Our trucks arrive stocked with the equipment needed to move your home safely, including dollies, straps, shrink wrap, furniture pads, and floor protection. Please order these before your move date so we can guarantee we have them on the truck.

Every move includes basic valuation coverage at $0.60 per pound per item, which follows federal moving regulations. If you want more than the standard reimbursement, we can go over the higher valuation options with you before your move date.

South Carolina is an easy place to love and, with a little planning, an easy place to move. These are the local details worth settling before your date.

  • Downtown Parking and Truck Access

    In Charleston, reserving curb space for a truck downtown means a street blocking permit through the city’s Traffic & Transportation department, and metered spaces can be held with a meter bag for a daily fee. Columbia’s Parking Services runs a similar bagged-meter reservation, with a daily rate and an extra charge for rush requests. Outside the city centers, a driveway or a friendly word with the neighbors usually does the trick. Give your coordinator the street and we’ll tell you which applies.

  • Hurricane Season and Coastal Flooding

    June through November is hurricane season, and Lowcountry streets can flood on nothing more than a high tide. Before a late-summer or fall move near the coast, check the forecast and the South Carolina Emergency Management Division’s guidance, and call us early if a storm is heading your way so we can move the date together.

  • Summer Heat

    July afternoons in the Midlands can top 95 degrees. Ask for an early start so the heavy lifting happens before the worst of it, keep water on hand for everyone, and set the air conditioning running at the new place before the truck arrives.

  • College Move-In Weekends

Every piece is carefully prepared before it’s moved. Our crews use heavy duty moving blankets, stretch wrap, floor protection, and proven loading techniques to help prevent scratches, dents, and shifting during transport.

If you have antiques, artwork, glass, marble, or other high-value items, we can recommend additional protection options such as custom crating or White Glove service.

Yes. For safety reasons, we cannot transport hazardous materials or certain restricted items. These are commonly referred to as “non-allowable items.”

This includes:

  • •Propane tanks, gasoline, kerosene, and lighter fluid
  • •Paint, aerosols, household cleaners, and other hazardous chemicals
  • •Fireworks, ammunition, matches, and charcoal
