Poseidon Moving has loaded and unloaded thousands of rental trucks, freight trailers, and portable containers since 2004. Our crews show up with the right tools, the right materials, and the experience to get it done efficiently without damaging your belongings or the vehicle.

What Your Crew Handles

Labor only doesn’t mean bare-bones. Your crew arrives with moving blankets, stretch wrap, and all the equipment needed to protect your items during loading. That includes furniture disassembly and reassembly for beds, tables, and shelving that won’t fit through doorways assembled.

Need us to box your kitchen or wrap your artwork? Add packing services to your labor booking. If your building requires proof of coverage, we issue a Certificate of Insurance before your scheduled date. Moving long distance? Our local and long distance moving services include the truck if you’d rather not rent one yourself.

WHAT’S INCLUDED

Every piece of furniture is wrapped in moving blankets and secured with stretch wrap before it goes on the truck. This prevents scratches, dents, and surface damage during transit.

Large furniture that won’t fit through doorways or into the truck assembled gets taken apart on-site and put back together at the destination.

Our crews load heavy items low and toward the cab, stack boxes by weight, and fill gaps to prevent shifting. Proper loading means fewer trips, less wasted space, and no damage from items moving around in transit. Straps and tie-downs secure everything before the doors close.

At the destination, we unload everything, unwrap furniture, reassemble what was taken apart, and place items exactly where you direct us. Floor runners go down to protect the new space during the process.

Every labor only job includes basic liability coverage at $0.60 per pound per item. This covers standard reimbursement for any damages that occur while our crew is handling your belongings.

How Much Does Labor Only Cost?

Labor only jobs are billed hourly based on crew size. A one-bedroom apartment typically needs two movers for 2 to 3 hours. A full house with heavy furniture may require three or four crew members and take most of a day. Stairs, long carry distances, and the type of vehicle being loaded all affect total time.

Crew Arrives with Full Equipment

The team shows up at the scheduled time with dollies, blankets, wrap, straps, and floor protection. They walk through the space with you and identify anything that needs special attention.

Loading or Unloading Begins

Furniture gets wrapped, disassembled if needed, and loaded strategically. For unloading jobs, everything comes off the truck, gets unwrapped, and goes exactly where you point.

Final Walkthrough and Cleanup

Once the truck is loaded or your home is set up, you do a final check. Packing materials are collected, floor runners are picked up, and the crew heads out.

With a full-service move, we supply the truck, the driver, and the crew. With labor only, you supply the vehicle — whether that’s a rental truck, a PODS container, or a company-arranged trailer — and we supply the crew and all the loading equipment. The hands-on work is the same either way.

Yes. You can book loading only, unloading only, or both at separate locations. If you’re driving a rental truck across the country and want crews at each end, we can arrange that as two separate labor bookings.

We recommend having your boxes packed before the crew arrives so they can focus on loading. If you need help packing, add our packing services to your labor booking and we’ll handle both.

For a studio or one-bedroom, two movers are usually enough. A two- or three-bedroom home with standard furniture typically needs three. Four-plus bedrooms, heavy items like safes or pianos, or tight access conditions may need four. We’ll recommend the right crew size when you request your estimate.

Container delivery dates shift more often than people expect. If your PODS or other container arrives on a different day than planned, let us know as soon as possible and we’ll reschedule your crew at no penalty. We keep availability open specifically for these situations.

Will my furniture be protected?

Yes. At Poseidon Moving, protecting your furniture is one of our highest priorities.

Every piece is carefully prepared before it’s moved. Our crews use heavy duty moving blankets, stretch wrap, floor protection, and proven loading techniques to help prevent scratches, dents, and shifting during transport.

If you have antiques, artwork, glass, marble, or other high-value items, we can recommend additional protection options such as custom crating or White Glove service.

Are there items you can't move?

Yes. For safety reasons, we cannot transport hazardous materials or certain restricted items. These are commonly referred to as “non-allowable items.”

This includes:

•Propane tanks, gasoline, kerosene, and lighter fluid
•Paint, aerosols, household cleaners, and other hazardous chemicals
•Fireworks, ammunition, matches, and charcoal
•Living things, including plants, fish, and pets

We recommend transporting these items yourself, using them before your move, or disposing of them safely according to local regulations.

Not sure about a specific item? Just ask your Move Coordinator before moving day, and we’ll be happy to let you know if it can be transported.

Can you take down TVs and wall-mounted items?

Yes. We can remove and reinstall many wall-mounted items as part of your move.

Our crews can typically dismount and reinstall:

Some installations may require additional hardware, specialized tools, or extra time, so these services may incur an additional charge.

If you know you’ll need help with wall-mounted items, let your Move Coordinator know before moving day so we can arrive fully prepared.

How much will my move cost?

Every move is unique, so the most accurate pricing starts with a personalized estimate.

✓Local Moves – Pricing depends on the size of your move, the time required, travel time, and any additional services such as packing, storage, or specialty handling. Based on your move, we’ll recommend either hourly or flat-rate pricing.
✓Long-Distance Moves – We provide binding estimates based on your inventory, the distance, logistics, and any additional services you request.

Do you provide moving supplies and equipment?

Yes. Every Poseidon Moving truck arrives fully stocked with the supplies and equipment your move may need.
