How far in advance should I contact you for my move?

While we do accommodate last-minute moves whenever possible, we recommend booking our services as far in advance as you can. This ensures that we can better plan and prepare for your move, increasing the likelihood of securing your desired date and time. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us early in your moving planning process for the best availability and a smoother relocation experience.

Is there a minimum charge for local moves?

Yes, for our local moving services, we have a minimum charge of 3 hours. This helps us ensure that we can provide you with the necessary time and resources to complete your move efficiently and effectively. We aim to offer competitive pricing while maintaining the quality of our services, making your local move a hassle-free experience.

Should the contents of drawers be removed?

Yes, we recommend that you have all of your drawers emptied out before the move. This is important for the safety of your furniture, the protection of your property, and the efficiency of our moving team. By emptying the drawers, you ensure that the furniture remains secure during transit and that your belongings are not at risk of damage. This practice also helps our team work more smoothly, allowing for a more organized and efficient move.

What can be left in drawers during a move?

You can leave items like clothes, towels, linens, and similar lightweight items in the drawers during your move, as long as you don’t overstuff them. It’s important to strike a balance to avoid making the furniture too heavy or unwieldy. However, if your furniture needs to navigate challenging obstacles, such as winding staircases, it’s best to remove everything from the drawers, including the drawers themselves. In situations where the furniture may be flipped or turned upside down, emptying the drawers ensures that items don’t shift, get damaged, or fall out during the move. Safety and the protection of your belongings are our top priorities during the moving process.

Can you assist with taking down/hanging artwork, TV, AC units during the move?

At the move-out location, we’re typically able to assist with tasks like removing artwork, TVs, and AC units. However, at the move-in location, we are unable to make holes in the walls, hang artwork, install AC units, hang TVs, or perform similar installation tasks. Our primary focus during your move is the safe and efficient transportation of your belongings. For any wall-related tasks at your new location, we recommend consulting a local handyman or service provider.

Will the charges for my move be exactly as estimated?

he final charges for your move may depend on various factors, including the accuracy of the details provided for your move. Providing a precise inventory and comprehensive information, such as parking distances and your level of preparedness, can significantly influence the overall cost. Additionally, if there are any unique or complex items that require extensive disassembly and reassembly, this may affect the time and, consequently, the charges for your move. We aim to provide transparent pricing and will work closely with you to ensure you have a clear understanding of how these factors may impact your final moving costs.

What types of valuation options do you offer for protecting my belongings?

Your belongings are not insured by the moving company as we are not an insurance provider. However, we offer three types of valuation options to provide some level of coverage:

  • Option B: Full Replacement
  • Option C: 3rd Party Insurance

I am not as prepared as I’d hoped, is it a problem?

Will my furniture be protected?

Yes, we take great care in protecting your furniture during the move. Our trucks are equipped with heavy-duty moving blankets, which are included in our standard rates. These blankets provide a layer of protection to prevent any damage during transportation. However, if you have especially delicate or valuable items, additional protection options are available for an extra fee. Please let us know your specific concerns, and we’ll work with you to ensure the safety of your belongings throughout the moving process.

Am I responsible for providing parking for the truck and for parking tickets?

No, you are not responsible for providing parking for our truck. However, it’s important to note that in Massachusetts, our customers are required to ensure that a valid parking spot is available for our truck. If a loading dock or designated parking area isn’t accessible, our truck may need to be temporarily parked in a legal but less convenient location, which could potentially result in a parking violation. While we make every effort to avoid such situations, we appreciate your assistance in securing suitable parking to facilitate a smooth and efficient move.

Can you move my house plants in truck?

For local moves, we can accommodate the transportation of your house plants. However, please be aware that delicate plants that are not suited for relocation may not be covered under our responsibility. We recommend that you personally transport any particularly sensitive or fragile plants to ensure their well-being during the move.

Are there items that cannot be moved?

Yes, there are items classified as ‘non-allowable,’ which professional movers will not transport. These typically include items that are considered hazardous, such as explosives, flammable materials, or corrosive substances. It’s important to identify and safely dispose of such items before your move to ensure the safety of both your belongings and our moving team.

Do you have packing supplies on the truck?

Yes, our trucks are equipped with a range of packing materials and moving equipment to assist you during the move. However, if you require full packing services or have specific packing needs, it’s advisable to schedule ahead of time. This ensures that we come fully prepared to meet your packing requirements and streamline the moving process.

Can jewelry and other valuables be moved?

Yes, we can transport jewelry and other valuables if you prefer. However, for your peace of mind, it’s often better to handle the transportation of such items yourself, especially if they hold significant sentimental or monetary value.

Do you offer discounts?

No, we do not offer discounts. The Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations prohibit licensed movers from providing discounts.

How much will my move cost?

In simple terms, the cost of your local move will include the sum of Travel Time (fixed), Surcharges, the time it takes to complete the move, materials, parking fees, Certificates of Insurance (COIs), and any additional services required to complete your move. For long-distance moves, the cost is based on a flat rate determined by the volume of your inventory and the distance of your move. Please ensure that your inventory is accurately listed on your account and confirmation page on the day of your move.

What is travel time?

Travel time is a fixed charge that compensates us for getting the truck & crew to the load location to begin the job, and from the destination location to the next job or back to our lot.

Cancelation Policy

Deposits are nonrefundable in the event of a cancellation.

We do understand that schedules can change, and rescheduling is accepted without penalties whenever possible, provided we can accommodate your desired dates and times. Please note that rates may vary if the rescheduled date falls under a different pricing structure.
