Smart Move is Poseidon Moving’s affordable solution for smaller long-distance moves with flexible scheduling. By coordinating your shipment with other compatible moves traveling the same route, we’re able to offer a lower flat-rate price while providing the same professional moving service.

You receive the same licensed movers and careful handling as every Poseidon relocation — the difference is the service model, not the standard. Smart Move is built around three things: flexible scheduling, coordinated transportation, and lower flat-rate pricing. If your move is on the smaller side and your dates have room to breathe, it is usually the smartest way to cross the country.

HOW IT WORKS

How Smart Move Works

Smart Move runs on coordination. Instead of dispatching a separate truck for every small shipment, we plan compatible moves along shared routes — each one wrapped, itemized, and documented as its own shipment, each one delivered to its own address. The four steps beside this section are the whole process.

Flexibility is what makes the model work. The more room your dates have, the more routing options your coordinator can use — and your pickup window and delivery schedule are always confirmed with you in writing before anything is booked. Nothing about your move is left open-ended; it is simply planned around the route rather than around a dedicated truck.

Smart Move Pricing

Smart Move is typically priced lower than our Standard Flat Rate service for eligible shipments. The price is still a binding flat rate — built from your item list, route, and services, confirmed in writing before pickup, and unchanged at delivery. Eligibility comes down to shipment size and date flexibility, and your coordinator will tell you up front which option fits your move.

Smart Move fits studios, one-bedrooms, and partial households — a student heading to a new state, a small apartment crossing the country, a downsized load after a home sale.
