Local moves are priced by the hour based on crew size. A studio or one-bedroom typically needs a two-person crew for 2 to 4 hours. Larger homes may need three or four movers and take a full day. Floor level, stairways, walking distance to the truck, and whether you add packing all factor in.

Here’s how a typical local move with Poseidon plays out from the moment we arrive to the moment we leave your new place.

The crew arrives at the scheduled time, introduces themselves, and walks through your home with you. They confirm what’s going, flag anything that needs special attention, and lay out the plan.

Floor runners go down, door jambs get padded, and furniture gets wrapped before anything moves. Beds, tables, and shelving units are disassembled and tagged for reassembly.

Loading and Transport

Items are loaded strategically — heavy items low, fragile items secured, nothing stacked where it shouldn’t be. The truck heads to your new address.

Unloading, Reassembly, and Final Check

Everything comes off the truck, gets unwrapped, and goes exactly where you point. Furniture is reassembled. You do a final walkthrough to confirm everything’s accounted for, and we’re out.

It depends on crew size, how much you have, and access conditions at both locations. The pricing table on this page gives you a ballpark by home size. For an exact number, request a free estimate and we’ll give you an upfront quote based on your specific situation.

Two to four weeks is ideal for standard scheduling. End-of-month dates and summer weekends fill up fastest, so the earlier you book during those windows, the better your options. That said, we also handle same-day requests when availability allows.

You don’t need to be present for every minute, but we recommend being available at the start for a walkthrough and at the end to confirm placement. If you can’t be there, you can designate someone to act on your behalf and direct the crew.

We handle that. Many buildings and property managers require a Certificate of Insurance before granting move-in access. We issue COIs and coordinate elevator and loading dock reservations so your move isn’t delayed by paperwork or scheduling conflicts.

We move in all weather conditions. Our crews carry floor runners, plastic wrap for upholstered items, and tarps to keep everything dry between the door and the truck. If conditions are severe enough to be unsafe, we’ll contact you to reschedule at no additional cost.

Any items that can't be moved or illegal to move?

“Non-allowable” is an industry term for hazardous items professional movers will not transport and are those generally considered explosive, flammable or corrosive.

Please do not ask our team to move living organisms such as plants, fish, pets…

Can jewelry and other valuables be moved?

Yes, but we are not liable for those items unless they’re properly reported item by item.

Can you take down/hang my art work, TV, AC...

During move-out we can generally remove artwork, mounted TVs, and window ACs.

Additional cost applies on dismounting and mounting TV.

Do you have moving supplies/equipment on the truck?

Yes, our trucks are fully stocked with moving supplies and proper equipment you may need for your move.
