How Much Does a Local Move Cost in Chicago?

Local moves are priced by the hour based on crew size. A studio or one-bedroom typically needs a two-person crew for 2 to 4 hours. Larger homes may need three or four movers and take a full day. Floor level, stairways, walking distance to the truck, and whether you add packing all factor in.

Travel time is part of the total. This is the time it takes our crew to drive from our base to your pickup address at the start, and from your delivery address back to our truck parking at the end. In Chicago, travel time varies depending on your neighborhood and expressway conditions — it’s billed at the same hourly rate as labor. For moves where you want the total locked in advance, our flat rate option eliminates the variable entirely.

“Non-allowable” is an industry term for hazardous items professional movers will not transport and are those generally considered explosive, flammable or corrosive.

Can jewelry and other valuables be moved?

Yes, but we are not liable for those items unless they’re properly reported item by item.

Can you take down/hang my art work, TV, AC...

During move-out we can generally remove artwork, mounted TVs, and window ACs.

Additional cost applies on dismounting and mounting TV.

Yes, our trucks are fully stocked with moving supplies and proper equipment you may need for your move.
