A dish set wrapped in newspaper and tossed in a grocery box doesn’t survive the same way it does when a trained crew uses cell dividers, packing paper, and a properly sized carton. Poseidon Moving offers professional packing for residential and commercial relocations — from a single room of fragile items to a full five-bedroom home packed top to bottom. We bring all the materials, do the work efficiently, and label everything so the unloading crew knows exactly where each box goes at the destination.

Choose Your Packing Level

Not everyone needs every drawer and closet packed for them. We offer three tiers so you can match the service to your budget and comfort level. All three use the same professional-grade materials and labeling system.

HANDS-OFF

Full-Service Packing

We pack your entire home top to bottom — every drawer, closet, shelf, and cabinet. Includes all materials, furniture disassembly, custom crating for fragile items, and a room-by-room labeling system. You don’t touch a box.

PRACTICAL

Partial Packing

You handle the straightforward items — clothes, books, linens, toiletries. We take care of the kitchen, glassware, electronics, artwork, and anything that needs professional wrapping or custom crating to survive the trip.

TARGETED

Fragile-Only Packing

Focused on items with the highest breakage risk: china, crystal, mirrors, flat-screen TVs, artwork, and similar pieces. You pack everything else yourself and we make sure the most vulnerable items are protected to professional standards.

WHAT WE BRING

Materials, Specialty Boxes, and Custom Crating

You don’t need to buy a single roll of tape or make a trip to the hardware store. Our crew arrives with everything required to pack your home — boxes in every size, bubble wrap, packing paper, stretch wrap, corner protectors, and furniture pads. The accordion on the right covers every material and method we use.

For items that don’t fit standard boxes — artwork, marble tabletops, oversized mirrors, antiques — we build custom wooden crates on-site. Need furniture taken apart before wrapping? That’s included. Need storage between move-out and move-in? Your packed items go straight into secure facilities and stay there until you’re ready. If your building requires a Certificate of Insurance before move day, we handle that too.

All packing materials are included in your packing service — you don’t need to buy or supply anything. We bring:

We provide five specialty moving boxes at no extra charge for items that don’t fit standard boxes. Pre-order before your move date to guarantee availability.

For artwork, marble tabletops, antiques, oversized mirrors, and anything that doesn’t fit a standard box, we build custom wooden crates on-site sized to the exact dimensions of the piece. Each crate is padded internally and secured for transit.

Every box is labeled by room, contents category, and priority level. Fragile items are flagged separately. This system means the unloading crew knows exactly where each box goes at the destination, and you can find what you need without opening everything.

Once you’re at your new home, our crew can unpack everything, break down boxes, and organize items by room so you can settle in the same day. Unpacking is available as a standalone add-on or bundled with any packing tier.

Items packed by our crew are fully covered under the valuation option you select. Items you pack yourself are generally not covered under carrier liability for packing-related damage. This is one of the most important reasons to consider professional packing for high-value or irreplaceable belongings.

What Happens on Packing Day

Here’s exactly how a packing day plays out when our crew arrives at your home.

The crew lead walks your home with you, confirms which rooms are being packed, and identifies items that need custom crating or special attention.

Kitchen and Fragile Items First

The kitchen is typically the most time-intensive room and gets packed first. Glassware, dishes, and cookware are individually wrapped. Fragile items throughout the home are handled alongside the kitchen to group similar packing techniques.

Room by Room, Labeled as We Go

Each room is packed and labeled in sequence. Boxes are marked with the room name, a contents category, and a fragile flag where applicable. Nothing leaves unlabeled.

Staged and Ready for Loading

Once packing is complete, boxes are staged near the exit by weight and fragility so the loading crew can work efficiently. If packing and loading happen on the same day, we transition directly into the truck.

Packing Services Questions Answered

A one- or two-bedroom home typically takes 2 to 4 hours to pack. Larger homes with 3+ bedrooms may take a full day or be split across two days. The timeline depends on how much you have, the amount of fragile items, and whether custom crating is needed.

Yes, and that’s actually our recommended approach for larger homes. The crew packs everything on day one, then loads and transports on day two. This keeps both days efficient and gives the packing crew time to do the job properly without rushing to get on the road.

If you’ve booked packing services, no. That’s our job. We’ll empty closets into wardrobe boxes, pack dresser contents if needed, and handle kitchen cabinets, bookshelves, and everything else. Just leave it where it is and we take care of the rest.

That’s exactly what our fragile-only tier is designed for. We pack the high-risk items — china, glassware, artwork, mirrors, TVs — and you handle the rest. You get professional protection where it matters most without paying for a full pack.

Generally, no. Carrier liability covers damage caused during transport, but if the damage resulted from how an item was packed and you packed it yourself, the claim may not be covered. Items packed by our crew are fully covered under the valuation option you select at booking.

Yes. Our unpacking crew removes items from boxes, places them where you direct, breaks down all packing materials, and takes the empty boxes with them. You can book unpacking as part of any packing tier or as a standalone service after your move.

Any items that can't be moved or illegal to move?

“Non-allowable” is an industry term for hazardous items professional movers will not transport and are those generally considered explosive, flammable or corrosive.

Can jewelry and other valuables be moved?

Yes, but we are not liable for those items unless they’re properly reported item by item.

Let us know if you have items of extraordinary value and we’ll walk you through valuation options.

Can you take down/hang my art work, TV, AC...

During move-out we can generally remove artwork, mounted TVs, and window ACs.

Additional cost applies on dismounting and mounting TV.

Do you have moving supplies/equipment on the truck?

Yes, our trucks are fully stocked with moving supplies and proper equipment you may need for your move.
